It's Lamrim It's Buddhism # 11 - Avoid Taking the Not Given
Often losing material stuff is one of the signs you've ever done black karma stealing!
Taking what is not given not only harms the victim, but also brings harm to those who do. Let's learn the consequences so we are careful to avoid them!
Avoid Taking the Not Given
In ancient times, there lived a young man from a very simple family. Despite his lack of interest, he is sometimes 'lucky' to find fallen fruits or stray cattle in his yard. He thought it was a blessing from the sky for him. If anyone comes to his house looking for a chicken or other lost livestock, he says no or no idea. He did not think he might have taken other people's cattle. After all the cattle he took came to his own home.
The above story is one example of black karma STEALING or taking items not given. Under the law of karma, every action will result. The result is not necessarily fruitful at that moment, but it could also be next month, next year, even the life to come.
What are the real consequences of karma stealing?
If you experience the following things, then it could be the story above is the life of your lamp ...
Born in hell realm, as a hungry demon, or an animal
If you can read this article, I certainly do not experience the impact of this one. Birth in the lower realms is a fully mature outcome of complete bad karma. You must be mud free because of this result and be born as a human now, also must try not to experience it in the future life!
Ever been stolen, mugged, lost goods
Stealing causes others to lose. Thus, according to the law of cause and effect, the culprit will also feel the effect of loss. If in life you have ever been robbed or mugged people, maybe you also have done it to others in past lives.
In addition, if you often lose small items such as ballpoint pen or flicked money, maybe you often do 'theft' that you do not realize like forgot to return the loan, take the money you find on the road, and others.
This result is referred to as a corresponding action.
Unconsciously picking up people's belongings, or often feeling the urge to take other people's stuff
Ever hear the term 'kleptomania'? It's a term for the inability to resist the urge to steal, even when a person does not really need or be able to afford it. This is also another form of the corresponding effect of action.
We memorize something by repeating it over and over again is not it? Similarly, karma is done many times, we will be 'memorized' with the karma and tend to repeat again at a later time, up to the next life. If in the past lives we used to steal, we would have a tendency to do it again in this life.
Living in a poor or crime-prone area
Our actions also determine how we live and move. If the area where you live often get in the news because a lot of robbery or begal, it could be the result that determines the environment of karma stealing.
By studying the consequences above, we will be better able to accept the problems we are experiencing now. If we are mugged or stolen, we can train ourselves not to add bad karma with vengeance to those who mug or steal from us. On the contrary, we can realize that we have just experienced one result of our bad karma. It can even develop compassion in the people who steal from us. And most importantly, we can arouse the determination to try to avoid taking items that are not given so that there is no need to experience those consequences in the future.
