Empire State Building to Light up for Landing

To herald the landing of NASA’s Mars Perseverance rover on the Red Planet, the iconic Empire State Building in New York City, about 126 million miles away from Mars, will light up its tower with red-colored lights two days in advance. The lighting display will be visible in the Manhattan skyline on Feb. 16, 2021 from sunset to 2 a.m. local time. Share your pictures of the tower lighting and follow the mission on social media using the hashtag #CountdownToMars. Image courtesy of Empire State Building.
