The metaverse is rising in popularity, with users looking for new ways to interact and experience digital worlds. Next Earth is one such metaverse, and offers an NFT replica of Earth that can be explored and experienced.

IT Developments

The Next Earth development team is busy expanding and improving their NFT-based metaverse.
Visibility into development is a key part of maintaining a healthy and active metaverse community, and this is especially true in the blockchain space, where transparency and trust are essential.

Expanding the DAO

Looking ahead, the Next Earth roadmap includes expanding their DAO slowly, in order to test its functionality and get community feedback. This is an important step in achieving true decentralization and empowering the community to help steer the future of Next Earth.
Currently, the Next Earth DAO enables landowners to vote on the allocation of proceeds towards different environmental causes. In the future, the DAO could be used to vote on a variety of other issues, such as land use and governance.
In Q1, the team will perform IT refactoring and bug fixes, and also make a GitHub-style interface for development tracking on their website, providing community members with greater visibility into what is happening with Next Earth.

Land Art

Another exciting development on the horizon is the release of the Next Earth Land Art module. This module will allow users to create and experience land art in Next Earth. This opens up a whole new realm of creativity and expression in the metaverse, and we are excited to see what users will create. Pixel art is not a new concept, but it is new to the metaverse, and we believe it has great potential for exploration and creativity.

Next Earth is merging the old and the new, the digital and the physical, to create a unique and immersive metaverse experience. We believe that it will continue to rise in popularity, as users look for new ways to interact and experience the digital world.

Environmental Responsibility

Additionally, considering Next Earth's commitment to environmental responsibility, we believe that the project will also grow in importance as people seek ways to reduce their carbon footprint.
Next Earth will be carbon neutral, with a highly-efficient minting process owing to the usage of Polygon, a Layer 2 scaling protocol. Previously, Next Earth ran on the Binance Smart Chain, but we have made the decision to migrate to Polygon due to its many advantages. Beyond carbon neutrality, Next Earth will be making the onboarding completely free by providing free MATIC to users to cover land minting gas fees as opposed to other metaverse projects where joining costs anywhere between 3-5 ETH.

Thank you for taking the time to read this overview, and please check out our livestream with Gabor Retfalvi, the Founder and CEO of Next Earth.
