Save the Dates — 2022 Events
with Mingyur Rinpoche

Mark your calendars to join us from April through August for both online and in-person retreats and events! This year Mingyur Rinpoche plans to start traveling again, and we will have this precious opportunity to feel his warm and nourishing presence. During this world tour, Mingyur Rinpoche will mainly focus on the Path of the Liberation Level 2 retreat and White Tara empowerment, which can only be given in person.

Rinpoche will also teach online, as he did before, for both beginners and seasoned practitioners.

This 2022 retreat season marks the end of the Way of Bodhisattva transmission and the beginning of a new transmission dedicated to the essence of the Vajrayana practice, which will include a series of retreats and online courses.

Here you’ll find a list of Tergar’s online, in-person, and hybrid events. We hope to see you at retreat!

Online Events

Mind Creates Reality: Path of Liberation Level 1
April 15–18
The Path of Liberation is Mingyur Rinpoche’s step-by-step approach to Buddhist meditation. In this retreat, Mingyur Rinpoche will introduce the first stage of this training, with teachings on the nature of mind and the practice liturgy that Rinpoche has composed, Nectar of the Path.

There are prerequisites for attendance at this program.

Everything as Meditation: Joy of Living Advanced Retreat
May 6–8
During this 3-day retreat, Mingyur Rinpoche will teach on a single practice that integrates all elements of our experience. “Stillness, Movement, and Awareness” describes the nature of awareness, as well as when it is with (movement) and without objects (stillness). This specific practice helps us link formal meditation with everyday-life practice.

There are prerequisites for attendance at this program.

Transforming Anxiety and Panic Through Meditation
May 21
Are you struggling with anxiety, panic, or other mental health issues? You’re not alone. During this webinar, you will learn how to start meditating with these difficult experiences themselves. Mingyur Rinpoche, a world-renowned meditation teacher who suffered from panic attacks himself as a young person, will teach from his first-hand experience.

This program is open to everyone.

Befriending Challenging Emotions: Deepening Joy of Living Retreat
May 28–29
Meditation can help transform our experience of challenging emotions like panic and anxiety. Instead of being feared, they become supports for spiritual growth. During this 2-day retreat, Mingyur Rinpoche will introduce powerful meditation techniques to help make this shift a reality. Throughout our time together, you will receive practical instructions for implementing these teachings in your everyday life.

This program is open to everyone.

Mind of a Bodhisattva: Practicing Emptiness In Everyday Life
June 17–20
At the heart of the bodhisattva path is wisdom that realizes emptiness. This wisdom is nondual, transcending the habitual patterns of identifying the world or oneself as inherently real and solid. During this retreat, Mingyur Rinpoche will present core elements from Shantideva’s famous 9th chapter of The Way of the Bodhisattva, which focuses on wisdom — the realization of emptiness.

This program is open to everyone.

Spontaneous Presence and Natural Liberation: Path of Liberation Levels 3 and 4
July 15–18
Recognizing the nature of mind throughout all experiences is at the heart of Tergar’s Path of Liberation program. During this retreat, Mingyur Rinpoche will transmit the third and fourth pointing out instructions of the Mahamudra lineage, helping to infuse your formal meditation and everyday-life practices with the recognition of nature of mind.

There are prerequisites for attendance at this program.

The Power of Imagination for Awakening: Vajrayana Practice
July 23
Do you wonder how to harness the power of the imagination in your spiritual life? In the Vajrayana Buddhist path, it is said that our true nature is fundamentally pure, and the path is a process of recognizing this truth. During this webinar, Mingyur Rinpoche will introduce practices of the imagination that can help us unlock our fundamental goodness.

This program is open to everyone.

Pure Perception: The Essence of Vajrayana Practice
August 12–14
At the heart of the Vajrayana approach is pure perception — seeing ourselves and the world we live in as expressions of enlightenment. Cultivating this view begins with a recognition of the intrinsic goodness within each of us. During this weekend retreat, Mingyur Rinpoche will discuss the practice of pure perception and its relationship to buddha nature.

This program is open to everyone.

Embodying Enlightenment: Path of Liberation Level 5
August 26–28
White Tara represents the enlightened qualities of all awakened beings. Connecting with these profound characteristics in her can help us unlock our own true nature and intrinsic qualities. During this program, Mingyur Rinpoche will introduce the White Tara practice and the profound methods used within it.

For those needing the White Tara empowerment, it will be offered during Mingyur Rinpoche's in-person Path of Liberation Level 2 tour. See dates below.

There are prerequisites for attendance at this program.

In-Person Events

Due to the current health situation and in an effort to keep everyone healthy, this schedule will remain flexible to accommodate local situations and regulations. It is possible that any or all of these events will be canceled or changed.

Mind and Emptiness: Path of Liberation Level 2
The essence of Tergar’s Path of Liberation is cultivating experience and insight into the nature of mind. Critically, this nature is emptiness. During this retreat, Mingyur Rinpoche will introduce the second pointing out instruction which elucidates this truth. He will also bestow the White Tara empowerment. White Tara is the principal deity of Tergar’s lineage. These teachings must be received in person.

There are prerequisites for attendance at this program. If you attended the Path of Liberation 1 retreat July 9–12, 2021 or will attend it in April 2022, you are eligible to attend a Path of Liberation 2 retreat in person with Mingyur Rinpoche in 2022, regardless of whether or not you have completed the homework.
