The Vajra Vehicle of Tibetan Buddhism is considered a “swift path” to enlightenment. This profound approach to awakening is rooted in the understanding that Buddhahood is not a goal to be achieved but an immanent reality that we can recognize in the present moment.
Various tools are used to bring about this recognition: meditations that employ the imagination, exercises designed to harness the body’s subtle energies, and pith instructions that guide the meditator to a direct experience of the mind’s true nature.
In 2010, Mingyur Rinpoche wrote the beautiful practice, the Nectar of the Path, for his students to distill the key points of the Buddhist path as a reminder for daily practice. In this one short practice, we have everything we need to fully engage in the Vajrayana path.
Beginning this November, subscribers of Vajrayana Online will explore this rich practice, section by section, including the four thoughts, refuge, bodhichitta, and guru yoga. To help introduce the course and answer any questions, we will host a “Nectar of the Path Welcome Session: Entering the Vajrayana Path” on October 27, also for Vajrayana Online subscribers.
This fourth-month course will include videos from Mingyur Rinpoche, weekly live practice and discussion sessions, instructions on both formal meditation and daily-life practices, and peer-to-peer forums to discuss the topics. This course is included in a Vajrayana Online subscription. We hope you can join us! |
