My Meditation Journey with Helen Tworkov

My Meditation Journey with Helen Tworkov

Join Helen Tworkov, co-author of Mingyur Rinpoche’s books, for this 60-minute conversation with Tergar International founder Cortland Dahl.

Helen will share her personal insights into the dissemination of Buddhism, as told in her newly released memoir Lotus Girl: My Life at the Crossroads of Buddhism and America.

A self-described “lost child” of the 1950s New York art world, Helen will share her transformational journey to Japan and Nepal where, in 1965, she volunteered at a Tibetan Refugee camp, her return to the United States and the counterculture protests sparked by the Vietnam War.

Following this, we learn of her meetings with leading Zen and Tibetan Buddhist teachers,  and her founding of Tricycle magazine, the first independent newsstand Buddhist magazine in the United States.
