Keep Calm When Your Mind is Wild

“Even if you learn to rest in simple sensory awareness, the crazy monkey mind will always be looking for new ways to interrupt whatever calmness, clarity, and openness you’ve achieved by offering a different and disturbing interpretation of events.”
Mingyur Rinpoche

During the first months of the Covid-19 pandemic, Mingyur Rinpoche, the Tergar Instructors, and Facilitators offered weekly online video teachings. The upcoming talks by Mingyur Rinpoche (June 28) and Myoshin Kelley (July 5) will be the last talks in this series, as we begin a new series of online summer retreats. Thank you for having joined us from all over the world during these last few months, and we hope to see you soon at one of our retreats this summer! Visit events.tergar.org to learn more about what’s coming up!

Mingyur Rinpoche Keep Calm When Your Mind is WildWe may try meditation looking for peace of mind, and think that we aren’t doing it right when we experience the turmoil of our thoughts and feelings. But we don’t need to force our minds to be quiet – meditation means just being present with our minds as they are. True calmness comes when we are at ease with whatever we experience, whether our minds are quiet or busy, peaceful or restless, tense or relaxed. In this video teaching, Mingyur Rinpoche will talk about how we can find rest in our mind’s natural awareness – under any circumstances.

Join us for a YouTube Premiere teaching with Mingyur Rinpoche on Sunday, June 28 at 11:00 AM EDT (17:00 CEST).

Translation will be available in multiple languages. Visit streaming.tergar.org during the Premiere for the details.

Myoshin Kelley - How to Relax about Being TenseMany of us feel that we can’t meditate because, no matter how hard we try, we just can’t get our minds to be quiet. But in fact, meditation means learning to simply be present with whatever is going on in our minds – no matter how peaceful or restless, tense or relaxed our minds may be. In this way, we begin to make friends with our minds – and with ourselves – and discover a sense of ease that is always available to us, even in our most challenging moments.

Join us for a live-streamed teaching with Tergar Instructor Myoshin Kelley on Sunday, July 5 at 11:00 AM EDT (17:00 CEST).
