Dear Susanto, We’re excited to share that this October 30 we’re hosting a live, one-day online Wisdom Retreat with B. Alan Wallace! This will be a one-day Shamatha intensive. The achievement of shamatha is widely regarded in the Buddhist tradition as an indispensable foundation for the cultivation of contemplative insight (vipashyana). The Shamatha in the Dzogchen Tradition One-Day Online Retreat will give you a chance to dive into and explore an approach to shamatha that is particularly pertinent for Dzogchen practice, called “settling the mind in its natural state” under the expert guidance of teacher B. Alan Wallace. You’ll meet with Alan for two live Zoom sessions, each two hours long, including meditation periods and Dharma talks, and finish the day with a one-hour Q&A (also over Zoom) where you can ask Alan your questions and receive practice guidance from him. This one-day retreat is going to be focused on a close reading of a section of The Vital Essence of Primordial Consciousness by Tertön Lerab Lingpa (1856–1926), a pithy and essential text included in the book Open Mind. This retreat will be beneficial for experienced students as well as those just starting their exploration of Dzogchen and shamatha. No matter where you’re starting from, this intensive one-day experience will help you dive deeper into your practice. |
